Dear Conference Participant,

A.C.E.S. Mentoring Society thanks you for your interest in our                   5th Annual TLC =  "THE Leadership Conference". This year's conference will be held on March 31st in the Reitz Union on the UF campus.

Check-in & breakfast for TLC begins at 8:00 AM inside the Arrodondo Cafe (4th floor). After registering, please enjoy a complimentary breakfast (see menu below).

At 8:30 we will begin the Welcome & Networking session. Your peers will be wearing business casual attire. 

There will be (3) workshop sessions of your choice. 

At 12:00 PM, enjoy a complimentary lunch (see menu below) while being entertained by the flute, singers, dancers, and a professional panel. 

The conference will conclude with a ½ hour closing ceremony & prizes such as “greatest networker” as well as random drawings. The conference will end at 3:30pm.  

All UF and Santa Fe students, spouses, affiliates, and invited business owners and professionals from our community are invited to attend TLC for free. There is limited seating. Participation is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please register as soon as possible. You may register at the conference, however, the availability of sessions will be limited.

Please note: only registered participants may attend the sessions & participants must attend the sessions to receive a voucher for meals & prizes. You may register for PART of the conference by selecting the session(s) that you are able to attend & selecting "unable to attend this session" for the workshops that you cannot attend.

              SESSION I WORKSHOPS:    9:15 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

A) PROGRAMMING YOURSELF FOR SUCCESS - Coach Black                   A seasoned business and personal coach will facilitate this interactive and fun workshop. The first portion focuses on removing the barriers that keep you from achieving success & help you learn how to get out of you own way. There will be a self-assessment called your SQ (Success Quotient). The second portion will include goal setting & steps to take to attract massive success to you. Information from experts in the field will be presented. 

B) NETWORKING FOR LEADERS - Krystyn & TESSA                        Body language, perfect handshake, entering & "working" a room, how to network effectively for career & life. Speed-networking, fun, & interactive practice included.

C)  LIVE TO LEAD! - Andrew Pringle                                                      What makes a great leader? Leadership isn’t about grand speeches or bold action, it’s about small things that you wont remember the next day, but those who follow you will always remember. Come learn what leadership really is and how you can become a great leader!    


              SESSION II WORKSHOPS:    10:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

A) COMMUNICATION EXCELLENCE - Esther Bae Dasom                        Do you ever get distracted while talking to others?  Ever wonder if you should or should'nt say something? Do you want to have better communication with loved ones and peers? Do you ever wondered why people react the way that they do? If you answered yes to any of these then this workshop is for you. 

B) MANAGING YOUR BUSY LIFE - Joane Cadet                                How to be more effective with your time. Includes goal setting, creating a plan, brief self-assessment, how do you spend your time?, and how to overcome procrastination. Great tips on management & organization.

C) MONEY MATTERS! - Coach Black                                         Experienced business owner with Master's in Business explains how to get & improve credit, get out & stay out of debt, what a credit score is, & how to make & keep more money. Attitudes about money & the economy will be discussed & participants will take a self-assessment about their relationship with money.  

          LUNCH 12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. 

            SESSION III WORKSHOPS:   1:30 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.

A) STUDY SMARTER NOT HARDER - Coach Black                                   -THIS SESSION IS FULL - PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER SELECTION - SPACE MAY OPEN THE DAY OF THE CONFERENCE - INQUIRE AT THE REGISTRATION DESK                                                                                                 Do you dread or put off studying? Do you ever finish reading & can't remember what you read? Boost your confidence. Find out how the top students study. Learn how to study less get better grades. Increase comprehension, focus, speed, & retention. Actually enjoy studying!!! 

B) SOCIAL MEDIA FOR JOB SEEKERS - Stephen Wycoff              Stephen Wycoff, Owner and Recruiter with Remedy Intelligent Staffing in Gainesville will talk about how recruiters are currently finding their candidates today. He will discuss strategies to take to make sure recruiters can find you quickly when you graduate and are looking for a job. Recruiting is about networking and the future is about personal branding. Learn the power Google and LinkedIn can make.                                     

C) PRESENT LIKE A PRO - Patricia Wong                                           Includes tips on breaking the ice, connecting with your audience, performance anxiety, and PowerPoint. 

                                  

BREAKFAST MENU: Coffee, O.J., bagels, coffee cake, & muffins (or doughnuts).

SNACK: pretzels, tortilla chips & dip.

LUNCH MENU:  Panda Express & assorted sandwiches
